When on December 16th the new IRON MASK album "Black as Death"
will be released, next to the CD version also a limited vinyl edition
(500 copies only) will be made available. The 2-LP in gatefold sleeve
contains 74 minutes of finest neo-classical inspired Power Metal / Hard
Rock, including the only here-to-find bonus track "March of the
Slaves."

19.07.2011 - 'Black As Death' update and final line-up changes
'After having the material recorded I realised Mark Boals would be the best singer for most of the new songs, range wise this is my most technically difficult album to sing, so Mark ended up on 10 songs,
Goran Edman on one and Valhala Jr on one, as he is recovering from a neck surgery and couldn’t do more.
In other news, I decided to have the great Mats Olausson on all keyboards so we warmly welcome him in Iron Mask , Ramy Ali on drums, Vassili Moltchanv on bass and Roma on a few aggressive parts, so this is the final line up for 'Black as Death'. We will all meet soon in Europe to shoot the new video clip.
Last but not least, Marquee Avalon, our Japanese label for ASIA has already signed 'Black As Death' and 3 more options albums, now we will start search labels for Europe and USA.
The mix and production will be done by master mixer Denis Ward at House of Audio studio early September ( he already did the drums recording over there with Ramy Ali,assisted by Vassili and me in March.)

17.03.2011 - 'Black As Death' update
We just came back from Hofa studio in Germany and have recorded all drums for "Black As Death"( 12 songs).
Other important news - I'm happy and proud to say that Richard Andersson (Time Requiem. Majestic) is back in business and he confirmed he will do the keyboard solos on the new album. Also we have Goran Edman for a couple songs confirmed as well!!
23.02.2011 - Mark Boals to sing on 'Black As Death'
I am extremely pleased to announce that legendary vocalist Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen / Ring Of Fire) will be singing half the songs on the next album 'Black As Death'. More details to come soon.

06.02.2011 - Gary Moore R.I.P.
I'm really devastated as Gary was one of my heroes and a true influence on my playing. I remember when I was a kid trying to reproduce his solos and melodies while I was learning to play guitar. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

15.01.2011 - Iron Mask Updates.
Many thanks to all that turned out for the Iron Mask performace at Frostrok, it was a great gig and we hope to see you all again soon. Our next gig is at the Prog and Power Metal Fest on 30th April 2011 at the Lotto Mons Expo, we will be playing with the likes of Europe, Edguy, Rage, Vanden Plas and Gamma Ray amongst others.
Work is progressing well on the new Iron Mask release 'Black As Death'. Almost 8 songs instrumental backings have been recorded so far and I'm extremely happy with the new stuff. It looks like it will be our best release to date.
In line with this I can also announce that the new line up is Ramy Ali (Freedom's Call, Evidence One) on drums, Carsten "Lizard" Schulz (Evidence One, ex Domain) on vocals and Steve Wiliams (Power Quest) on keyboards.

Due to a stomac emergency surgery Valhala jr will be replaced by amazing singer Carsten Shultz from the german band Evidence One.
Rhythm beast Rami Ali (Freedom's Call, Evidence one) is also our new drummer.
Last but not least; Phil Giordanna (Magic Kingdom, Fairyland) will handle the keys as Andreas still is at work for his school.

Iron Mask will embark on a European tour, The Barock Heroes Tour 2010, in November together with At Vance and Joe Stump. The first three shows have been confirmed and the dates/venue info can be found in the "Shows" section of this site.

The Iron Mask homepage has underwent a complete redesign. We hope you'll have fun browsing the new pages, reading up on the band and listening to songs from the albums.
Right now the band is finishing up the mix and mastering of their next album - "Shadow Of The Red Baron" - which will be released in Japan on December 10th 2009 by Marquee/Avalon, followed January 15th by a European/North American release through Lion Music.
Also, IRON MASK will be performing at the FrostRock Festival at the Hippodroom, kattenstraat 188, Kuurne West-Flanders, Belgium on December 19th 2009.
